The talk is about the relationship between perceptual forms on one hand and their meanings on the other. It will argue that the perception of forms and the attachment of meanings to them are two relatively independent processes and moreover, that both processes follow their own sets of rules. The talk will concentrate on the processes of attaching meanings to them and of bringing about changes in these meanings, in particularly how this is done by scientists.
